In My Life

I am taking off for a year and backpacking through South America. I have been living in New York City for two years. This is my blog/photoblog for my travels.

I have reached a point where I want less.

I want less stuff.

I want less.

The problem is my capitalist world view. I have placed wealth in the arms of the material.

I feel like burning all of my stuff while Tyler Durden, from Fight Club, reminds me, "The things you own end up owning you."

So I sold many of my things. I gave away much more. I shipped three large boxes home out of weakness and am narrowing down my belongings to one 45 L backpack.

So I am going to countries that through a western world view have much less, but actually have much more in terms of natural beauty. A paradigm shift for myself to crumble all the logical and illogical paradigms I have erected in my lifetime.

One backpack to live out of for a year.
